Jane—a truly beautiful human being

Jane—a truly beautiful human being

Years ago, I did a project in elementary school on Jane Goodall. She wasn’t a popular choice but I've always tried to take the path less taken. I was captivated. She showed us that one did not need special credentials to make an impact, that kindness was strong and hope was essential.

Since I was first introduced to Jane through books at my local library, I would think of her sometimes and see what she was up to. September 2025 was one of those times. I looked up her tours and found that she would be speaking at UCLA in October. I’m not one to go to events but I really wanted to see my childhood hero in person. I ended up forgetting to actually book the tickets. It turns out, I wouldn’t have had the chance even if I did.

When Time magazine came out with a special issue dedicated to her, I spotted it by accident passing down the magazine section at a store, tucked away on a shelf behind flashy magazines. I normally don’t buy magazines because most are filled with ads and stories that don’t matter—but this one was filled with stories about Jane—like a reincarnation of my childhood project.

As a child, my dream was to somehow support good causes. For me, a brand isn’t worth building if it doesn’t a larger purpose.

Jane has given us all the greatest gift and I want help her mission as best I can, with the support of our community.
